Tryin to get ahold of someone in the office and not customer service line but I have no idea how. I can never get ahold of anyone on customer service line or office.

In the past month, I went to three DPS in Texas and the equivalent DMV in Georgia. Port Lavaca was the longest and least successful of the visits.

At the Georgia DMV, I was in and out in five minutes with a new license (and that included an eye test and presenting all of my documentation).

In Port Lavaca I spent 2 hours waiting in line in only to be told that my signature on my lease looked fake and that none of my correspondence worked as proof of residency so I left empty-handed. Until the Victoria DPS reopens, I recommend not using Port Lavaca.

In El Campo, I was in and out in 10 minutes with a new learners permit for a family member. The woman I worked with was humorless but efficient. Be sure to do your paperwork ahead of time and get there before noon.

Don't try to reach the DPS by phone. I called at 8 am and was on hold for 20 minutes before I hung up. The automated phone system is also problematic.
